CLAUDIA DE SERPA SOARES | Sasha Waltz & Guests (Berlin, Germany)
THE BODY
Week Two: Monday, 30 June - Saturday, 5 July 2025
THE BODY - this amazing and complex moving organism.
My course will center on the body, each individual body and also the collective body.
As a beginning point, I will refer to the piece “Körper” from the German choreographer Sasha Waltz, piece that I co-created and performed over the last 20 years.
We will look into our bodies closely, our skin, our bones, our muscles, our organs, our systems, and our feelings… We will look into different ways of moving our body, different energies, different pathways, different impulses and states.
We will look at our bodies and the bodies of others.
And we will create ephemeral sculptures and explore body/architecture relationships.
We will give voice to our bodies and we will listen to our bodies.
In this post-pandemic and Internet-dominated world, how can we rediscover the presence and meaning of our individual and collective bodies?

ELLEN LAUREN | SITI Company (New York, USA) + SCOT/Suzuki Company of Toga (Japan)
PRACTICE AND MAKING
Week One: Monday, 23 June - Saturday, 28 June 2025
-
The workshop seeks to bridge the principles of both the Suzuki Method of Actor Training and The Viewpoints training, taught in the mornings, with the practice of making original material in the afternoons. Uniquely identified with SITI Company’s influential contribution to the field, participants are asked to stretch their imaginations while learning fresh skills to rehearse and perform new work in a collaborative setting. Emphasis is placed on understanding a stronger connection between body, breathing and voice, and deepening one’s emotional and intellectual commitment to the creative act.
